Another state pits parents against LGBT propaganda – OneNewsNow

Gov. Kate Brown (Oregon)Oregon’s governor has signed controversial legislation that mandates classroom instruction on homosexuals, lesbians, and transgenders.

After signing House Bill 2023, Gov. Kate Brown made her state the fifth to adopt pro-LGBT lessons that predictably conflict with biblical beliefs and church teachings about human sexuality.

Brown (pictured above), an attorney and former state legislator, has been celebrated as the first openly bi-sexual U.S. governor.

Another state pits parents against LGBT propaganda

Stephanie Curry of the Family Policy Alliance tells OneNewsNow the pro-LGBT lessons will be sprinkled throughout school subjects such as history, geography, economics, and civics lessons.

“It requires the contributions of these classes of people based upon their sexual preferences and gender identity,” she says, “and not what they have to do with the topic or subject matter at hand.”

Worse still, Curry says, is parents can’t opt their children out of the lessons which means the State of Oregon will predictably go to war with parents whose personal views conflict with the far-left state government.

Some parents have already taken action. Concerned parents in California, angered over LGBT class lessons, kept their children home in May to protest the lessons and the lack of an opt-out option for elementary-age children.

A proposed second-grade lesson points out, for example, that NASA astronaut Sally Ride is a lesbian.

The new Oregon law also means teachers will be forced to teach radical identity politics in the classroom, whether or not it has anything to do with the subject they’re teaching.

“That is one of the biggest arguments we have against this being forced into the classroom,” she says, “as it doesn’t have to do with content. You’re teaching to an agenda.”
