To mark Pride celebrations this year, Uber has partnered with PinkNews to launch its ‘Many Voices of Pride’ campaign across the UK.
The campaign goes beyond the familiar six colour symbolic Rainbow flag to celebrate the many sexual orientations and gender identities that make up the LGBT+ community.
This campaign helps to give visibility and a voice to the many different identities that make up our vibrant community.
Using the personal stories of Uber employees and the riders and drivers who use the app, the campaign showcase the various LGBTQIA+ flags, including: Agender, Asexual, Bisexual, Gay, Gender-fluid, Genderqueer, Intersex, Lesbian, Non-binary, Pansexual, Polysexual, Black Pride and Transgender.
Stories of Uber’s LGBT+ community will be shared on a dedicated page as well as in the app and across Uber’s social channels for the month of July.

The stories will also be featured on more than 100 flag wrapped JUMP bicycles, Uber’s new electric bikes in the capital.
On Saturday, Uber will also turn all the journey routes in the app into a rainbow in London. This feature will also go live in other UK cities as they celebrate Pride. Uber is a proud sponsor of Pride celebrations in Bristol and Cardiff.
Omar Gurnah, Head of UK Marketing at Uber, said: “Pride celebrations have been a part of Uber’s identity since the beginning but this year it’s more than just the Rainbow.
“We’ve brought together stories from both employees and the many people who use the app to give visibility to 13 sexual orientations and identities in the LGBT+ community, celebrating everyone, and every colour.”
Darren Clapich, PinkNews Head of Brand Partnerships, said: “When you think of Pride, the image that most often comes to mind is the rainbow flag, but not many people know that there are many other flags, and many other stories, each representing a different section of the LGBT+ community.
“This campaign helps to give visibility and a voice to the many different identities that make up our vibrant community.”
